Summer in Texas with kids, every parent wonders what they are going to do with those kids once they are out of school! It’s a big schedule change for children, and let’s not forget for mom too. There are lots of opportunity with all this free time and what a wonderful thing to have more time to explore, have fun, have family time, and sleep in. At first, the thought can be overwhelming, especially if you are new to the area or even as your child, now a year older, is ready to try a new activity or be more independent.
Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake Mom’s League (GCSML) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support mothers with young children in the GCS and surrounding areas through friendship, activities, and resources. One program we have begun is to assemble businesses in the GCS area that have summer camp programs for young children and showcase them in a community Summer Camp Expo. What makes this event special is that we have sorted through and found the businesses with programs for preschoolers, as well as elementary-aged kids. If you have begun to search for summer camps, you may well know preschool camps can be hard to find. At the Expo, you will browse and meet with the businesses personally. Get a feel for the business, get schedules, ask your questions, and even sign-up if you are ready. Some businesses have spring break camps too. Attending business range include art, sports, cooking, educational, music, and more.
